THE BANK TAVERN
I was invited up to a nice little paint jam at The Bank Tavern in Bristol
and it was a great day of painting beside Elmo, 20/20, Los Stencilos,
Pistol, JK47 and maybe I'm forgetting a few names now. The weather was
good to us that day, too! This was back in 2009 and I don't think I had
done much large stuff at that point. To be fair, I've not done much large
stuff since, as I tend to prefer painting my work at a diminutive scale.
The design for this was taken from a canvas piece probably measuring no more than 40cm by 15cm. Looking at it now, the background could do with a lot more work and there's too much underspray going on with the dogs for my liking but, in my defense, there was free cider. I think you can see how blazé I became about painting, as the black 'vignette' at the corners of my section are not soft or subtle whatsoever, haha.
