The dog wanted that bone, it wanted it more than anything else. Oblivious to his surroundings, he continued to chase after the bone, pounding the ground with each paw. Relentless, hungry and hopeful, the dog was happy.
There must be well over 20,000 stickers of this dog across the world
by my estimates, which is just incredible. I've used the image of my dog
chasing a bone strapped to it's back, hung in front of him, almost from
the beginning. I think the pup represents happy enthusiasm and perseverance,
which I would like to think I share some of those qualities. I even ended
up turning the dog into a vinyl toy.
Funnily enough, I've only painted the 'Chasing Bones' dog on the street once, which you can see above. At that size, if it's the only time I paint the dog, I'm fine with that. For the vast majority, he comes in the form of paper or vinyl stickers. They're great for handing out to people as a small gift or including with purchases, so that hungry little dog has found his way all across the world. Thank you so much to each and every one of you that has taken the time to slap a sticker up somewhere and further thanks for those of you that take a photo for me!
