We really took a different turn with this intense multi-layered wood painting. There was a lot of listening to the album ‘Kind Of Blue’, as well as a whole bunch of other jazz, whilst drawing it.

We then used a CNC machine to cut each of the four layers out of MDF, since there are so many delicate elements. Experimenting with the composition and realizing all the abstractions through paint, cut shapes and throughout the different layers was fascinating.

The painting is shipped in a custom crate lined with foam and comes with instructions for hanging it via the mount plate on the reverse with the included fixings.
